As I continue to read and study God’s Word, I often find myself with questions about something I have read.Perhaps you are the same.

During His time upon this earth, our Lord was often questioned:

a. Some of the questions were legitimate, seeking truth.

b. At other times they served no other purpose than to entrap Jesus.

Most of the questions asked during the final week of our Lord leading up to His crucifixion fall into this category:

a. The question about authority (Mark 11:27-33).

b. Payment of taxes (Mark 12:13-17).

c. Marriage in the resurrection (Mark 12:18-27)

This last question, however, may have come from a legitimate truth seeker.

Our Lord is pleased when we come to Him with legitimate questions about how we may please Him.

But, He frowns upon those who are looking only for loopholes in God’s Word which might allow them to live as they please.

This last person to question Jesus was a “scribe” (v. 28).
