Christians and Self-Defense
Could you please discuss the implications found in Luke 22:36 where Jesus tells His disciples to obtain swords? Why does Jesus tell His disciples to arm themselves since Jesus is all the defense His disciples needed?
Is Jesus implying that all men should be armed and ready for conflict or at least possess arms by which to deter violence? Is this verse verifying a responsibility or a benefit of having access to a weapon for defense?
