There is a truth which each of us must ingrain in our minds this morning. It is the fact that as long as time exists, Satan will continue his relentless attack upon our Lord’s Church. Last week we examined his effort to crush the church through persecution — specifically that brought on by the ruling body of the Jews known as the Sanhedrin. He failed, however, because the church prayed and instead of shrinking back they were strengthened by the Holy Spirit to “speak the word of God with boldness” (Acts 4:31). This morning, we will see a different tactic which Satan utilizes.
a. Having failed to destroy the church from without, He chose to work from within. b. He attempted to introduce evil into the church’s interior life through moral compromise.
