Paul’s letter to the Christians in Ephesus is rich in what it details for us concerning our standing in Christ. It is as if Paul says “I have so much to tell you” and as he begins he keeps saying, “Oh, and there is this” and “I can’t leave this out, you have to know this.” For the last twelve verses Paul has told us about all the blessings we enjoy in Christ: a. The blessings we enjoy through the Father. b. Those blessings made possible through the Son. c. Those blessings we experience through the Spirit. Having shared with the Ephesians the multitude of blessings they shared in Christ, Paul thanks God for what he has heard about brethren in Ephesus. His prayer for them also includes His desire for them.
