What Does God Require of His Shepherds?
The church, the body of Christ, if it is to function at its greatest potential, needs godly leaders. According to scripture, these men are known as elders. Scripture uses several names for these men; Overseer (Bishop), Elder (Presbyter), and Shepherd (Pastor).
Let's consider the qualifications which God places upon such men and reasons for such qualifications. Only qualified men can truly lead each congregation in the way of righteousness.
