Your Calling and Election
The Bible teaches that election and predestination and involved in the process of salvation. In Romans 8:29-30 the apostle Paul writes of those whom God "foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son." In his letter to the church at Ephesus he again spoke of those whom God "chose ...before the the foundation of the world" He also "predestined...to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 1:4-5).
Can a Christian be confident about eternal life? Can he know he is saved? Of course he can! Salvation is not something given to you and then taken away by a capricious god. It is not something offered to a few but denied to the rest. No, salvation is something offered to all.
