Wheat of Chaff
We live in a world of choices.
We choose . . .
a. What time we will get up, what we will eat for breakfast, or even if we will eat breakfast.
b. What we will wear to work or school.
c. The kind of vehicle we will drive and its color — Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Company, was once quoted as saying, “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black.”
We make choices concerning relationships, dating, marriage, money, family, and career.
The problem today, however, is many people have reached the point where they seem unable, or unwilling, to make a choice.
They want to hedge their bets, keep their options open.
Sadly, such an approach to life doesn’t make us happy, but creates within us the fear that by choosing we may miss out on something better.
When it comes to our eternal soul we need to make sure that we aren’t trying to keep our options open.
