What is the nature of the work of the church? The Lord’s body with Christ at the head "And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body,"-- (Eph.1:22-23) God’s family with God as the father "And do not call anyone on earth `father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven." (Matt. 23:9) Church work is only a part of the Lord’s work. There is no scriptural basis for any distinction between work done by individual Christians and that to be accomplished by the church as a body or a group of Christians working together. (J.
