The Heart of A Giver
Do you know anyone who is a “people watcher”?
A people watcher is someone who likes to watch people:
a. What they say and do — how they act.
b. Especially, how they respond in certain situations.
Jesus was a “people watcher.” He not only watched their actions, but their motives as well.
a. Did you know that you were being watched as you got up and began preparing to come here this morning.
b. Our Father watched each of us as we walked into the building, the door by which we entered, the people we talked with or possibly avoided.
c. He paid attention to the topic of our conversations with those we have encountered.
d. He has been examining the motives of our hearts and the things on which our minds have been focused from the time the first song was announced until now.
e. Long ago, the psalmist David wrote of this intimate knowledge that God has of us,
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it. (Psalms 139:6 NASB)
God doesn’t want our money, He wants us.
If we give ourselves to God, we also give Him our money, our time, our talents and everything else about our lives.
