Let’s be the hands of Jesus by pointing and guiding others to this righteousness of which Jesus speaks. You and I can make the lives of those around us and ultimately this community better if we will do that. However, we must not forget. We cannot lead others to a place where we have not gone ourselves. Do you hunger and thirst for this righteousness of which Jesus spoke? Are you seeking first God’s kingdom and His righteousness? If not, you will never reach a point in life where you are truly satisfied, because eternity beckons in your heart.
You and I are the recipients of God’s compassion, not because of some extraordinary goodness within us, but because of God’s great compassion. “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.” (Psalm 103:8) Just as children seek to imitate their parents, so we are to imitate our heavenly Father. It is the only way we will change the world in which we live.
We all want our children to become faithful servants of God as they mature. What values are you working to instill within your children? Are they learning to love God and to devote their lives to Him in faithful service? You cannot lead where you have not gone. If you aren’t a Christian, make the decision today to submit you life to Jesus.

But the mothers of men are the builders of civilization.” (C.A. Stewart) “Mothers write on the hearts of their children what the world’s rough hand cannot erase.” (Anonymous
How many of us have been unwilling to forgive a person even one time when they sought our forgiveness? How many of us grudgingly forgave one time, but were unwilling to do so a second time? How many of us would have been willing to go Peter’s seven times, but set our limit there?
The question for each of us is simple: To whom will you prove to be a neighbor? Will you be the hands of Jesus by being a messenger of His compassion to a world that is lost and in great need.
