Self-Control
What is "self-control?"
Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines it as having restraint exercised over one's own impulses, emotions or desires.
One Bible dictionary defines it as "physical and emotional self-mastery, particularly in situations of intense provocation or temptation."
An online search revealed it being defined as, "choosing to do right when I feel like doing wrong."
Why is it important to have self-control? It is an aspect of our Christian character. It also affects our whole person. And should be our response in the face of persecution.
Proverbs 25:28 reminds us that a man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.
