It can be found a sad feeling that God had to destroy an entire generation of people before He found people who would listen to Him and obey Him. And in the same manner, that many of the generation who entered the Promised Land had no parents or grandparents with whom to share the joy of God's fulfilled promises.

May it not be said of any of us that we fail to obtain the promises of God because we refused either to believe His Word or to obey His Will. May all of us be able to enter God's rest because we have not only believed but obeyed - true obedience brings rest.
