Last week, we examined five character qualifications which God looks for in these men. Paul lists them for us in 1 Timoothy 3:8-9.

Men of dignity — men who are worthy of honor and respect.

Not double tongued — they are men of their word.

Not addicted to much wine

Not fond of sordid gain — they are not greedy for money.

Holding to the mystery of faith with a clear conscience — their lives are consistent with the teachings of God’s Word.

This morning, there is one more aspect of a deacon’s life that we must consider this morning — it has to do with his wife and his household.
