Knowing A Life of Joy
After reading a part of his second letter to the Christians in Corinth you can’t help but wonder how he manages to keep going (Read 2 Corinthians 11:23-29). Even this letter to the Christians in Philippi was not written from a beach-side resort on the Mediterranean Sea, but a prison cell in Rome He is imprisoned for a capital charge which will eventually cost him is life. He knows there are those on the outside who are preaching Christ simply for
personal gain. The church at Philippi has those who seeking to change its message and is in danger of dividing because two godly women within its ranks are at odds with each other.
However, you can’t read this letter and not get a sense of Paul’s joy. It is a theme which runs throughout his writings.
