I want to direct your minds to Jacob and to what God did in his life to bring about such a change. I think that as you examine the things God did with Jacob, you will see other lives in God’s Word where He acted in similar ways to bring necessary change.

Only after Jacob acknowledged this did God give him a new name. God wants to give you a new name, but first you have to come to terms with
your past. He can’t change you until you recognize the sinful, lost state you are presently in.
