As you may remember, following the test, Elijah commanded the people to seize the prophets of Baal and bring them "down to the brook Kishon" where they were put to death. We might assume that following this great victory Ahab and Jezebel would repent and acknowledge the God of Israel. However, such was not to be the case.

The reason this lesson is so important is that most if not all of us at one time or another have become discouraged in the Lord's work. Perhaps some of us, even though we loved the Lord and trusted in Him, have thought about walking away from the church.
