Defying Doubt
There are different degrees of doubt used by the master of deception.
One is that of the proud skeptic who seeks to upset the faith of those who are weak. He argues against the existence of God and the Christian faith.
Another degree of doubt is the person who wants to believe, but continues to struggle with difficult questions. His questions are sincere, but in his confusion, he seeks to run his life without submitting to Christ. His struggle centers around an issue of the heart and his willingness to obey God.
A third degree of doubt is the Christian who has taken his eyes off the Lord in the midst of a difficult situation.
Our text this morning involves another person who found himself struggling with this kind of doubt — Zacharias.
