The apostle Peter wrote to Christians who were under much pressure from thos around them, specifically false teachers and their heresies. Peter considered his audience, then wrote encouraging the Christians to live right and urged them to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18
