Blessed Beyond Measure
David begins Psalm 103 with "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name!" He is urging in his own heart to "bless the lord." He had seen God's mercies filling his life. Now he commands his soul, personality, and inner self to praise God. In one sense, there is really nothing we can do for God. However, we CAN serve Him by serving others in His name. We can also serve Him by praising and thanking him. And we should always respond to God's goodness by praising Him. David had so much to remember and urges God's people to remember what He has done for them as well.
