Is it possible for us to be called a friend by our Lord?

I believe that it is, if . . .
a. We will put away our previous life of sin and agree to follow Him wherever He leads us.
b. Be loyal to him all the days of our lives regardless of the consequences.
c. Listen to Him as He reveals to us all that awaits us both in this life and in the life to come.

There is a song we sometimes sing, which has these words in the chorus:

To all who need a Savior,
My Friend I’ll recommend;
Because He brought salvation,
Is why I am His friend.

I’ll be a friend to Jesus,
My life for Him I’ll spend;
I’ll be a friend to Jesus,
Until my years shall end.

Will you be a friend to Jesus?
