Do you know someone who is struggling with their faith? Someone who is on the verge of walking away? How do you encourage them? How do you draw them back? In his second letter to the Christians in Asia Minor, Peter had a few things to say. As we look at the words he wrote almost 2,000 years ago, I would like for each of us to stop and consider what God has given us and what we are doing to grow in our own lives. Peter tells us: “Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.” (2 Peter 1:10–11, NASB95)  Don’t let God’s calling you to Himself through Christ be for naught. “Be all the more diligent” to keep living your life for Christ. Keep practicing these things — if you do, “you will never stumble” (v. 10b). Ultimately, your “entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you” (v. 11). Where are you at in your Christian walk? Have you started it yet?
