The Physician Is In
Have you ever invited someone to come to worship with you and had them say to you, “I’m afraid that the building might fall down if I go in there.”
Have we communicated the message that “only good people go to worship . . .”
a. those who don’t have any problems in their marriages
b. those whose children are perfectly behaved
c. those who don’t struggle with anger, hate, lying, lust
d. those who have never gossiped, or cheated, or stolen from anyone, committed adultery, or been guilty of any other sin which we might name.
If this is the message we have communicated then we have missed one very important lesson which Jesus taught.
This morning, let’s look at a man whom Jesus calls to follow Him and the stir it causes among the religious establishment of His day.
