At the beginning of the book of Solomon we are confronted with a question. This question is not stated plainly, but as you realize what the inspired writer is asking - "Is life worth living?"

He calls himself "the Preacher," but the first verse reveals him to be "the son of David, king in Jerusalem" - Solomon.

We are privileged to follow Solomon as conducts as experiment of sorts, an investigation into what he calls "life under the sun." His initial conclusion is "No, life is not worth living!" or as he states it, "vanity of vanities! All is vanity."
