When it comes to His church, God’s paramount concern is not with buildings or programs but with the moral and spiritual character of those who lead and care for His people.

Godly leadership makes the true, spiritual difference in any body of believers.

Our elders have asked you to look out among us and choose men who you believe would serve this congregation as faith deacons.

Last week, we looked at who these men are, what they do and God’s reward for those who serve faithfully.

Today, I would like for us to look at what kind of men they are to be, in other words, the qualities which God looks for in them.

The only place where such a list of qualifications is given is in Paul’s first letter to Timothy, specifically (1 Timothy 3:8-13).
