Waverly Church of Christ

Jacob was the son of Isaac and Rebekah and the fraternal twin to Esau, his older brother. At his birth, he was given the name Jacob because he was holding to his brother’s heel when Esau came forth from his mother’s womb. His name also means “to supplant, deceive or cheat.” As he and his brother grew up we begin to see him live up to his name.

I believe that there are many times when Jacob looked back over his life and made the connection between what he did to his brother and father and what happened to him in Haran. Perhaps there were times when he wished he could do it all over again, and make different choices.
