I Am Not Ashamed
Down through the ages many have rejected Jesus, and in the ages to come many more will continue to do so:
a. Some reject Him because He is a threat to their power.
b. Others because He exposes them for what they truly are.
c. Still others reject Him because to follow Him will cost them their position in society, their promotion at work or their scholarly reputation.
d. Then there are those who reject Him out of confusion or disappointment — He is not what they thought Him to be.
There is a hymn that we sometimes sing which has these words,
“I’m not ashamed to own my Lord, nor to defend His cause;
Maintain the honors of His Word. The glory of His cross.”
What about you today, are you ashamed of our Lord, or will you stand up and become a soldier of the cross.
