There is nothing greater this morning than to be a Christian, a child of God.

Every spiritual blessing with which our heavenly Father seeks to bless us is found in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

God’s free gift of eternal life is found in Him (Romans 6:23).

Every single one of us here this morning need Him because in Him we have hope and hope is a much needed commodity in today’s world.

But such hope escapes us if the body of Jesus of Nazareth still remains hidden away somewhere in the vicinity of Jerusalem.

There is no such thing as eternal life if He never rose from the dead.

Not only that, but God has no power to provide us with any spiritual blessing if He could not release His Son from death’s grip.

A few years ago, Bill Gaither wrote a hymn titled, “Because He Lives”.

This morning you will recognize some of the lyrics from the chorus of that hymn.

I have chosen them because they emphasize the truth of the resurrection and what it means to us as Christians.
