He Is Not Here… He Has Risen
Many tombs belonging to wealthy families or individuals had large round stones which could be rolled in front of the tomb entrance. These stones would have very heavy, requiring several men to move them.
Early on that Sunday morning Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome went to the tomb with spices to anoint Jesus’ body (Mark 16:1).
They wondered who would roll away the stone (Mark 16:3).
When they arrived they found that it had already been rolled away (Mark 16:4).
How did that happen?
