God’s Answer to Worry
How many of you have worried recently about where your next meal is coming from? (Not which restaurant, but whether you will have anything to eat?) How many of you have found yourselves anxious about having any clothes to wear in recent times. Many of us may worry about whether or not our clothes will fit, but not about having any clothes at all. I imagine that a good number of us have clothes in our closet which we need to give away.
Having said that, many of us still have the tendency to worry about money:
a. If we don’t have enough, we worry about how we will get more.
b. If we have plenty, we worry about how to hold onto what we have.
Prior to His teaching in our text, Jesus had warned His listeners about the dangers of greed. You may remember His words, “not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions” (Luke 12:15)
