A Worthy Walk
On the night before our Lord prayed a prayer to His Father which the apostle John records for us in chapter 17 of his gospel. In that prayer He uttered these words: “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:20-21) It has always been our Lord’s desire that there be unity in His church. Here, in chapter four of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians he addresses this concept of unity. Paul has spent the first three chapters of this letter focusing on all that God has done for believers, both then and now.
