Building on the Solid Rock
As we have seen over the last three weeks Matthew and Luke both record a sermon which Jesus preached:
a. Matthew’s is referred to as the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7).
b. Luke’s is called the Sermon on the Plain (Luke 6:20-49).
At the end of both sermons Jesus told a parable about two men building houses.
This morning as we examine this parable and its meaning, it is important that each of us ask ourselves one very important question, “Which of the two men am I most like?”
Our answers to this question are very important, because they determine how we will fare in this life and in the life to come.
