When Will You Quit?
When will you quit living the old way of life, the former manner of living which Paul described as being dictated by your own lack of knowledge and understanding, separated from the abundant life God offers?
The people were told to “lay aside the old self,” “be renewed in the spirit of [their] mind,” and “put on the new self.”
The new self would be the one created according to God that would be more like Him than the old self was. As God makes one new, the person must change and take on the behavior of the new self. The new self is described as accepting truth which produces righteousness (right living in relation to other people) and holiness (right living in relation to God).
There was and is hope for a new life!
