Have you ever stopped to think about that statement — God chose to save you!

It is this truth which Paul declares to us in vv. 4-5 of our text this morning. Only five words, but when put together, they form a statement like no other. Today, I would like for us to break this statement down and consider it in order to better understand what has been done for us.

This is the gospel which Paul proclaimed to those in Thessalonica. It is the message which he proclaimed to them, not only in word, “but also in
power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction” (v. 5a).
