He is My Everything
Do you remember singing the words of this song as a young person growing up in the Lord’s family?
Some folks may ask me, some folks may say,
“Who is this Jesus you talk about every day?
“He is my Savior, He set me free,
Now listen while I tell you, what He means to me.”
He is my everything, He is my all,
He is my everything, both great and small,
He gave His life for me, made everything new,
He is my everything, now how about you?
Simple, though it may sound, this song contains a profound message.
As a matter of fact, it is the same message which Paul communicates to us through a letter which He wrote from a prison cell almost 2,000 years ago.
In Colossians 2:8-15, Paul declares to us that it is truly “in Christ alone” that our hope is found — He is our everything.
Why is this important? Because Satan is hard at work deceiving a world into believing that fulfillment and completeness in life is found in everything but Christ.
