As we further examine the nature of God, we have another word to consider in our One Word study.
It is the word Christ.

A translation of the Hebrew M?šîah, a word transliterated in the KJV as “Messiah.” The literal meaning of both the Greek and Hebrew terms is “the Anointed One.”

In its various forms the Greek word Christós is found 529 times in the New Testament. On the other hand, the Hebrew word “Messiah” appears only two times in the New Testament, and both times (John 1:41; 4:25) it is immediately translated
and interpreted by the word Christ. “He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ).” (John 1:41, NASB95) “The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.”” (John 4:25, NASB95)
