Paul had been preaching Christ and serving as His apostle for some 25 years.

Still he confessed that his spiritual journey of fully knowing Christ was incomplete.

He had not obtained it, nor was he “perfect”.

He humbly admitted that he still needed to grow in his maturity.

The more we come to know Christ, the more we will realize that we still need to grow.

When we think we have arrived, stagnation sets in.

Paul’s prayer — “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death” — was one of humble dissatisfaction.

Spiritual dissatisfaction is a blessed state "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." (cf. Matthew 5:6)

Do you long to know Christ better?
