All of us who have gathered here today have come for some specific reason, but what is the reason for your being here? Most of us in this room wear the name Christian, but why — does it mean anything to us, or is it simply a title that has been attached to us? In less than an hour, we will leave this building — will our lives be lived any differently, will they be lived with greater purpose or distinction? In the text before us today, Paul appeals to each one of us to live our lives in a certain way — a way that pleases God. This morning my goal is for us to look at what Paul has to say to us about: a.) Why our lives are lived with purpose — the motivation behind such living. b.) What such lives look like — what does God want in our lives?
