There are so many things that we as fathers teach our children:
a. How to blow bubbles in milk, how to catch a June bug and tie it to a string.
b. How to dribble a basketball, hit a baseball or softball, or throw a football.
c. How to wash a car, check the oil or change a tire.
d. How to hunt deer and turkey, catch bass and crappie.
But do we teach them the ways of God.
Sadly there are some who have no fear of God (cf. Romans 3:18).
a. They laugh at Him and mock His holy name.
b. They do not realize the danger of such behavior.
Men, teach your children that the God you serve is “a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:29) and that “it is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31).
Is the Lord your children’s light and salvation? Is He the defense of their lives?
Do your children know that God is all powerful, all knowing and ever present?
Do they know about God’s justice, mercy and love?
Do they understand His plan from before the beginning to save them?
If you haven’t taught them God’s ways, is it because you don’t know them yourself? As long as you are living, it is never to late to learn.
