Have you ever been rejected?

• Went out for the team but wasn’t selected.
• Applied for the scholarship but didn’t receive it.
• Applied for a job but was turned down.
• Asked someone to marry you but were told no.

Rejection can hurt, especially when you thought the response would be different. Down through the years, some very famous people suffered rejection: Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, Walt Disney, Elvis Presley, Michael Jordan, Steven Spielberg and many more.

Those who lost the most were those who did the rejecting. Today, I want to reexamine the account of Jesus’ rejection by His own hometown and ask ourselves what we can learn from this painful episode in our Lord’s life. Are any of us in danger of doing the same in our own lives? If so, what do we need to do?
