There are certain things I expect to happen this coming year:
- On January 20, 2017 our new president will take the oath of office.
- Several of our young people will join a host of young people from throughout the mid-south in Pigeon Forge, TN for Challenge Youth Conference.
- A number of our youth along with their parents will also participate in the Lads to Leaders Convention at the Opryland Convention Center.
- Many of you along with several from other congregations will travel to El Salvador on our annual mission trip.
- We will have another Gospel meeting in September.
- Our ladies will host their annual Ladies Day in October.
In addition to this there are also some things which could happen in 2017:
- Some may get sick.
- Some of you may enlarge your family either by birth or through marriage.
- Some may move away while others may move here.
- Some may die.
The greatest thing which could happen in 2017 is that Jesus and His angels could return in judgment:
- While there are those who point to certain things which they say are signs of His coming, I do not know of any which tell us that it is close.
I only know that it is closer today than it was yesterday.
