I don’t know about you, but I love this time of year because people are in the mindset of expressing what they feel throughout the year. Thankfulness, gratitude, and appreciation are in the forefront of most minds. In the month of November people begin to think about what they are truly thankful for and how to express their gratitude. Appreciation is displayed on social media, in cards, notes, and letters. Verbal communication is more seasoned. The list of acts  of kindness grows.

In Psalm 67, this prayer of thanksgiving is written to all nations and peoples encouraging them to praise God. In this psalm we find the glory of God, the praise of God, and the respect of God.

We are to praise God. When we do this we fulfill four things:

  • The blessings of God.
  • Sharing the message of thankfulness for God with the world.
  • Telling the world of the glory, praise, and respect of God.
  • Thus causing the ungodly to take note of our God who blesses and to draw near to Him.

“Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You”  (Psalm 67:3, 5)
