How often do we catch ourselves using the word “church” in the wrong way?
a. “Children, get ready, it’s almost time to go to church.”
b. “Where is the such and such church of Christ at?”
c. “That is not the way we behave in church.”
It is a habit we find ourselves getting into, even though we perhaps know better. But we really know, don’t we, that the “church” is not this building, or a place on a map. The church is those people who have been redeemed by Christ Jesus. It is those who have responded to God’s call through the good news of salvation through His Son to come out of the world and be different, separate from that world.
