With Moses, we know the story of how God approached him through a burning bush and he led the people of Israel out of the land of bondage. With the help of God, he delivered the people out of Egypt. But before taking on the job he simply used the smokescreen method to attempt to hide the fact that he just didn’t want to do it.

Any and every excuse we could offer is only a smokescreen. We really would rather that God uses someone else to do the job. We really don’t want to do what God has called us to do! Whether it is the fear of failure, belief that we are insufficient for the task, or simply thinking that we do not have the knowledge is just plain and simple smokescreen. God made us. God can give us the strength and the knowledge to complete the task that he is asking of us. Why do we continue to hide from God’s call?
