It is with great sadness to express that we lost a true brother from our congregation. Our God called Les Glenn home on Wednesday, October 03, 2012. He was one our elders, here at the Waverly church of Christ. He was one of the sweetest and most caring individuals I have ever met. Even when his day wasn’t going as well as hoped, he still cared enough to call other members of the congregation to see how they were doing. Days when you could tell Mr. Glenn wasn’t feeling well, he still would ask how your day was going. Chances are, if you stopped by the church building, you’d find Les there with a smile on his face. Also, he always found time to write in the “Elder’s Corner” in our weekly bulletin.
He will truly be missed by all, and will leave a space that not many can fill. But, he has left us with a great example of how we all should be and do. Thank you Les for being that example, for you had a great example to follow… our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Though we will be struggling and hurting because of this loss, Les has a new body, no more pain, no more sorrow. He can now rejoice for he has finished the race and paved for us a nicer path to seek as well. May we all look towards that path and towards the same goal. One day, we can meet again. Until then, may Les’ legacy live on through us as we become closer to God.
Les leaves behind a wonderful wife, Susan, our church secretary, and three sons. One of which, Evan Glenn, is our Broadcast Minister. Our prayers go out to each one of you. May God bless you and comfort you through this time.
