As long as we live in this life, you and I will be tempted. It doesn’t matter whether we are alone or with a crowd, we are never free of temptation. The devil is persistent — he will never quit. Some of our temptations will be crude, of a base nature; others will be of a seemingly spiritual nature (i.e., the prophet of Judah killed by a lion on the way home because he believed the lie of another prophet, 1 Kings 13:11-25). Find time to be alone with God in prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Psalm 139:23-24). Spend time in His Word (Psalm 119:11). “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11, NKJV). “Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). The reason the devil will flee from you is because you are a Christian. In 1 John 4:4, the apostle John wrote, “greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” Are you a Christian today?
