On one occasion an expert in the Law of Moses asked Jesus a question for the purpose of testing Him. He asked the question not in search of information — he wanted to see what kind of answer Jesus would give.  Perhaps he was hoping that Jesus might stumble and give him the opportunity of showing him up.  This question, however, is the most important question that can be asked:
“Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”  (Luke 10:25)
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)
How many of us do this?  We want to love God and our neighbor this way, but we don’t. What does this mean?  We need someone to be the good Samaritan in our lives and treat our wounds and heal us, someone who will pay the price.  That someone is Jesus. How will you respond to Him today?
