God’s desire for each of us as Christians is that we might become more like Him as we progress toward our final day upon this earth. Love is a fruit of the Spirit of God and is to be developed in our lives. When we hold our lives up to God’s description of love, how do we compare? We see enough bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor (shouting) and slander in our world today, not to mention the physical, mental and emotional injury which goes along with it. We who are Christians are to have no part in such things. Instead, we should be known as those who are kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other.
