“In can do all things through Him who strengthens me” is one of the most quoted verses in all of the Bible. You will find it stenciled on living room walls, imprinted on T-shirts, coffee cups and even cell phone cases. Some taped it to ceilings in weight rooms over bench presses, while others have affixed it to their bathroom mirrors. It has shown up on pendants, rings and even tattoos. It is also one of the most misused statements we find in Scripture. People have removed it from its context and used it to say, “I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me.” Or, “I can do everything (especially the extraordinary) through Christ who strengthens me.” It is almost as if some believe that by declaring it they can become superhuman.
