Living As Slaves of God in the Modern World
Many of you have heard the statement, "there are two things you should never discuss in public - religion and politics." One reason often given is that the discussion of such topics will only start an argument. Another reason is that you will never change anyone's mind.
But how should a Christian respond to a person in authority, who is of a different political persuasion, a different moral persuasion. We live in a county which seems to be more and more opposed to authority.
The bible is not a book about how to get along in the world. It is abook from God about living in relation to God. In Galatians 2:19 Paul wrote, "through the law I died
to the law, so that I might live to God." The goal of life - socially and politically - is to live to God, to live with the desire to please Him, to live under His authority.
